Akron, Ohio – Union Process has received recertification for ISO 9001:2015 with Design as of March 29, 2026. This certification covers the company until 2029, which will mark fifteen consecutive years of ISO certification.

The audit, which was performed by Smithers, presented no findings, meaning that Union Process passed with exceptional performance. As described by Smithers, ISO 9001 “is the global standard for creating effective quality management systems. Numerous quality management principles, such as a strong customer focus, the process approach and continual improvement, are baked into the standard, which can help companies deliver consistently high-quality products.”

For Union Process the certification is more that checking off boxes. The company has instituted an internal audit system with trained internal auditors to ensure that the ISO standards are met consistently, even during years when they are not being reevaluated.

Ron Sloan, Union Process’ plant manager, said, “Since we introduced a self-auditing system, Union Process has had consistently clean findings for the ISO evaluation. This has allowed us to build smart habits and correct any inconsistencies before they become greater issues.”

“ISO is required by most of our customers, but it also ensures that we hold ourselves to the highest standard of quality and safety.”

Union Process’ sales manager, Brian Li, said, “ISO certification is about trust and consistency. Union Process has a long history in this industry, and you can trust that we are going to adhere to honorable and trustworthy business practices now and in the future.”
