This versatile design provides us with an opportunity to quickly and easily switch between S-10 Attritor and S-15 Attritor tank assemblies. Additionally, the S-10/15 Attritor can be configured for wet, dry, inert atmosphere or cryogenic milling. This new Attritor will provide improved flexibility to our pilot plant.
The Attritor System includes usage of up to six grinding tanks, with six agitator assemblies all in a single unit, allowing for maximum versatility. The single point of control makes the system consistent and easy to use. This unique system provides the opportunity to accomplish multiple test batches under the same lab conditions.
Our toll milling business has seen a dramatic increase and we saw the need to increase our capacity. Adding this new SD-100 Attritor will go a long way towards helping us meet our growing customer demand on the toll milling side of our business.
Union Process Laboratory Manager Emery Li noted, “This DMQX 07 bead mill is a great addition to our test lab. In addition to our line of wet and dry grinding Attritors, this mill allows us to target applications where submicron and nanometer particle size range materials are required.
The customized Attritor has a special high purity Zirconium Oxide (YTZP-stabilized) grinding tank that is jacketed for cooling. The mill is driven by a 7.5 HP motor that is Totally Enclosed, Fan-Cooled (TEFC) and explosion-proof.
The 5-gallon, PT5 premix tank is constructed of 304SS with a carbon steel jacket for cooling. The tank includes a sealed cover assembly for low vacuum and a gauge.
