Akron, Ohio – Union Process, Inc. announced the completion of two custom SD400 Attritors, engineered specifically for high-capacity dry grinding of concrete additives.
Designed for continuous-mode processing, the SD400 delivers energy-efficient particle size reduction while maintaining a narrow particle size distribution. To support continuous high-volume operation, these units feature a metering valve system that provides precise control over discharge rates and output quantities. The valve assemblies incorporate heavy-duty carbide-faced grids built to resist abrasive wear and extend operational service life.
Key operational features of the SD400 Attritor include:
- Custom Designed Cover: Engineered specifically to meet unique application process parameters and customer requirements.
- Dry-Grinding Agitator Shaft: Configured to optimize grinding efficiency and material movement.
- Integrated Water-Cooling Jacket: Maintains optimal thermal control during continuous milling.
- High-Torque Drive System: Features a 350 HP motor and heavy-duty gear reducer to optimize energy transfer.
“The challenge we solved with this design was balancing high throughput with long-term mechanical robustness and particle size distribution control,” said Brian Li, Sales Manager at Union Process. “By combining continuous processing efficiency with tight particle size control, we give manufacturers a reliable solution for demanding milling applications of various industrial materials.”
